Gold Three Kings Coin Necklace

Three Kings Necklace

When Baby Jesus was born, the Three Wise Men followed the Star of Bethlehem and presented the newborn king with frankincense, myrrh, and gold. The gold alluded to in the Bible, scholars believe, was shorthand for money. The currency believed to be offered to Baby Jesus was the Azes II coin, now dubbed the Three Kings coin. Scholars also believe the Azes II coin was the currency used to finance the trip by King Azes II, who had political interests tied to the future king of the Jews.

The Three Kings Coin Necklace features the king on horseback following a star on one side. On the reverse is one of several Greek Deities. The coin features both Greek and Kharoshti writing, making it among the earliest bilingual coins.

LOVE LOVE LOVE

This is exactly what I was looking for, dainty, beautiful and full of meaning. It looks pretty on bare skin as well as over a thin sweater or turtleneck; it's actually even prettier in person than the pictures! I also love the reminder behind the piece and will be buying more as gifts!
