Gold Widow's Mite Coin Necklace

$85

The Widow's Mite Necklace showcases a replica of the actual coin believed to be offered by the 'widow who gave all she had.' Recounted in the Gospel of Mark and Luke, Jesus sat inside a temple and watched people as they filled the treasury with money. Many rich people threw in large amounts. Then a widow came and contributed just two coins or mites.

A mite, or a Greek lepton, was the smallest and least valuable coin in circulation in Judea, worth about six minutes of an average daily wage - or "worth only about a few cents," according to the Bible. But because the widow had given all she had, her whole livelihood, she had given more than anyone else, Jesus said.

The Widow's Mite necklace serves as a reminder that what we do and give, however seemingly insufficient, can be enough in the eyes of God who gauges our hearts.

Gorgeous

I had been looking for a coin necklace for awhile and was so happy to come across the Chirho line. Gorgeous and meaningful, I couldn't happier to wear it and support such a thoughtful and beautiful statement piece of jewelry! I got it to layer with the Three Kings Coin necklace but it's also very pretty on its own.

Stunning and meaningful!

This necklace is soooo beautiful! I own a lot of cross jewelry but this necklace is unlike any other religious jewelry I own. The meaning behind this necklace might be even more beautiful than the necklace itself. Love that it was a coin the widow gave in the Bible. Packaging is also beautiful! Bought for myself but will be ordering more in the future as gifts. There are a lot of textural variation on this pendant that makes it look and feel luxury. Will definitely be ordeirng in the future!
